hi, 1st of all, sorry for d delay cos i was kinda bz last few days……Last Thursday(1st May 2008) race was very competitive…with d hot n sunny weather, it made everybody “HOT” and it also effected d Tyres very much…Everyone encountered Tyres Overheating thus it also effected the whole race with unconsistent lap time….
The Race was divided into 2 group with 3 Heats and 3 Finals. Each Round with 5minutes race. For the 1st time, EP racers ran till the SWEEPER.

We have talked about the Associated TC5F, the foam tire kit, now here the rubber tire factory team kit. Enjoy it.

Based on Associated’s successful Factory Team TC5, we now bring you the TC5R, an electric touring car chassis that has been optimized for lower traction, rubber tire racing. The components that make up the TC5R have the desired attributes that are sought after for indoor and/or outdoor racing with rubber tires, making the TC5R an even more lethal racing machine!

The TC5R starts with a full ball bearing, dual belt-drive system that transfers all the power from the motor smoothly and efficiently.

With today’s motors and batteries delivering more power than ever before, the belt-drive system gives the TC5R a very predictable throttle response and feel, making it easier to drive fast and carry more speed through the corners.

The blue aluminum ball differentials are super light for reduced rotational mass. Reducing the weight of the diffs lets the TC5R accelerate harder out of the corners. Hardened-steel CVAs with cross-pin retaining clips and blue aluminum clamping wheel hexes offer reliable service getting all the power to the wheels.

The TC5R has a fully adjustable and durable ‘soft’ composite suspension package. The rugged A-arms pivot on 3mm inner hinge pins and 2.5mm outer hinge pins, making it easier than ever to drive away from some of the most severe mishaps. Fully adjustable roll-centers and hinge-pin angles (anti- & pro-squat) help you to squeeze every last ounce of handling potential out of the TC5R. The steering is handled by a mono-bellcrank with adjustable Ackermann for more precision and less free play. An integrated adjustable servo-saver releases only when you need it to and not before. Front and rear anti-roll bars are included.

The VCS2 shock package is included and features hard anodized threaded shock bodies and are very quick and easy to rebuild thanks to the silicone shock bladders. Weight-bias is a very important part of tuning any race car and to accommodate this, the stiff 3mm carbon fiber shock towers are indexed with center-holes designed for balancing the TC5R side-to-side.

The TC5R has an ITF 2mm carbon fiber chassis and top plate, and when assembled with the blue aluminum bulkheads makes a chassis with ‘Increased Torsional Flex’. The torsional chassis flex gives the TC5R a broad sweet-spot making it easier than ever to get dialed in for high-grip carpet racing or for low-traction parking lot racing and all the conditions in between.

Demands and expectations of race level touring cars have never before been higher. The Factory Team TC5R not only meets those demands and expectations, but surpasses them with the best touring car made by Team Associated to date.

The Factory Team TC5R is truly a champion by design.

Novak had bright ideas for its HV Brushless Motor Series when the motors were released in 2006, and the series has continued to grow to include two more motor winds and a handful of exciting features.

Novak’s HV Brushless Motors with 5mm Shafts are available in four motor winds:

• HV4.5 High-Voltage Brushless Motor with 5mm Shaft is best used for short, high-speed runs (#3524).
• HV5.5 High-Voltage Brushless Motor with 5mm Shaft has superb control, and excels in racing and bashing applications (#3525).
• HV6.5 High-Voltage Brushless Motor with 5mm Shaft is the best all-around-motor with a great balance between power and run time. It also shines in racing and bashing applications (#3526).
• HV7.5 High-Voltage Brushless Motor with 5mm Shaft has incredibly smooth power delivery, making it the easiest to drive, and is recommended for users looking for the longest possible run times (#3527).

HV BRUSHLESS MOTORS WITH 5MM SHAFTS

In addition to its already impressive features, including awesome starting torque, low-speed driveability, and no cogging for smooth acceleration and smooth coasting, the HV Series has been fitted with a rugged 5mm output shaft for maximum resilience and race life. The HV Series is ideal for monster trucks, converted electric 1/8-scale vehicles and vehicles requiring massive power output. Additionally, the motors are sensor-based, so they always know the position of the rotor, which provides excellent starting torque and continuous synchronization for smooth, controlled low-speed driveability and consistent brakes. Simply stated, it means no uncontrolled bursts of power or delays! HV-Series of motors also features a shielded sensor cable with sheathed sensor wires and a completely rebuildable design.

Get the full details here.

Winner - Paul LeMieux

XRAY’s Paul LeMieux would take the lead from the sound of the tone to try to run away with it. Not going down with out a fight, teammate Barry Baker would make LeMieux work for the win. A similar battle was brewing for the third spot with Corally teammates Chris Tosolini and Mike Dumas; Dumas would win that battle(2:40 minutes into the video clip thru 3:50). LeMieux would take the A1 win, and Baker would take second.

Still, Mr.Raphael got the TQ position and Mr.Jayjay led again for this heat. Congratulations man!

Final #1
Still leading in front was Mr.Raphael with his best time 20.9s in his lap 13. Phew~ Followed by Mr.KSCHU from Team Serpent chasing behind but seem like something up to his car la … yet still came out in 2nd. Came in 3rd, Team Serpent’s Mr.Jayjay..and so on la…hehe..at this moment the state was obliviously heat up. Everyone were racing to get their best position..hehehe. Mr.Daniel Fung’s motor burnt out caused him to DNF the race. Forgot to mention that there were 2 mains for the Final. A main and B main.

For B main, Mr.Delbert came in 1st place. Not bad man, for starting. hehehe.

Final #2
A main: For this round, the starting was so way bad..as the cars banged on each other except for Mr.Abdullah who managed to untangled his way and led the rest of the racers. In the second minutes of the race Mr.KSCHU managed to chase from behind and turned up in 1st position, followed by Mr.Jayjay and Mr.Raphael, time was moving very fast as in the 3 and half minutes of the race, still led by Mr.KSCHU and Mr.Raphael chasing fast from behind.Mr.Jayjay got his 3rd place here.

B main: Mr.Luther a.k.a Lut heat up here as he won 1st and Mr.Delbert came in 2nd position.
